Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1972 (with amendments) provides that stormwater discharges associated with certain construction activities to waters of the United States are unlawful, unless authorized by a Nation Pollutant Discharge Elimination Discharge (NPDES) permit. In New York State this is accomplished through the administration of the SPEDES program administered by NYSDEC.
A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Pollution Plan (SWPPP) is prepared in order to obtain coverage by the SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharge from Construction Activities (GP-0-10-001). If project activities involve the disturbance of greater than 1 acre of soil, a full SWPPP is necessary. HAAS Landscape Architects have produced SWPPPs for many clients. These plans address the erosion and sediment controls and stormwater management activities associated with the site development.
HAAS Landscape Architects has produced SWPPP's for the following projects:
* Fall Brook Subdivision
* Portabello's Too Restaurant
* Upstate Shredding, LLC
* Mt. Upton Spring Water Bottling Co.
* JVA Distribution Center
